A piece of Canberra’s transport history is back on the road.

To celebrate 100 years of local bus services, a team at Belconnen Bus Depot restored Matilda, a bus dating back to 1949, using old-fashioned mechanical skill and plenty of elbow grease during their lunch breaks.

Workshop manager James Corbett revealed Matilda recently drove under her own power for the first time in up to 20 years.
