Is this Gungahlin’s New Best Spot?
It’s the latest addition to a thriving Gungahlin, and a pub that feels just as cosy as a Sunday lunch with the family gathered around the table.
Located where Siren Bar once stood, Palmer’s is here to breathe new life into the Gungahlin hospitality scene, and it’s clear that no expense has been spared.
With decadent finishes throughout and booth seating you could happily spend hours in, Palmer’s is the perfect setting for an after‑work drink, a special birthday dinner, or for reconnecting with a long‑lost friend. Screens are also spread across the venue, making it an unbeatable place to settle in for this Wednesday’s State of Origin decider.
With head chef Jarrod Lord at the helm, the fresh menu sets a new bar for pub grub around the capital. The wide array of starters includes mouthwatering pulled pork, prawn and chicken tacos, which will leave you salivating until your next visit.
The menu features a carefully curated list of mains, showcasing all your pub favourites alongside elevated dishes such as a high‑end gnocchi complemented by beurre noisette, sage, pine nuts, spinach and parmesan, and a herb‑crumbed lamb rack that’s sure to be a popular pick.
Their signature Palmer’s Burger stands tall above the rest, built around a 180g Angus beef patty with house‑made truffle mayo, bacon, rocket, and cheese.
Our sweet tooth was well and truly satisfied by the White Chocolate Crème Brûlée, one of several tempting dessert offerings at Palmer’s. The first tap of the spoon gave a clean, satisfying crack, revealing a custard so smooth it practically sighed into the bowl.
With something on offer every night, weekly specials include $25 burgers on Mondays, a $30 steak night on Tuesdays, trivia on Wednesdays and $25 schnittys on Thursdays, all before you slip on your dancing shoes for live music every Friday.
It’s easy to see that genuine hospitality is at the heart of Palmer’s, with staff greeting you with warm smiles and happily offering their favourite menu recommendations.
It’s fresh, fabulous, and family‑oriented, and it certainly won’t be long before every northsider answers the question “Where are we going?” with “Palmer’s, of course!”
