Yearning for that runner’s high?
Maybe your New Year’s Resolution is to start running regularly, to help get those ten thousand steps in each day.
One way you can do that is by heading along to your local Parkrun.
Parkrun is a free community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate.
They happen across Australia every Saturday morning at 8am, at a 5k course mapped out by volunteers.
If you’re a beginner and worried about your time, you needn’t be. There is no time limit, and all abilities are welcomed on the day.
Here in the nation’s capital we have a bunch of local Parkruns, so it’s easy to find one close to you:
- Burley Griffin Parkrun
- Mount Ainslie Parkrun
- Gungahlin Parkrun
- Wagi Bridge Parkrun
- Ginninderra Parkrun
- Coombs Parkrun
- Tuggeranong Parkrun
- Point Hut Pond Parkrun
- Umbagong District Parkrun
There’s also some in our surrounding region as well, just across the border:
- Queanbeyan Parkrun
- Jerrabombera Mountain Reserve Parkrun
- Riverbank Parkrun
- Braidwood Showground Parkrun
- Goulburn Parkrun
