It may be a new addition to our city, but it’s caused quite a stir.

I present to you the most unnecessary bench seat in all of the ACT. Built recently out the front of Lanyon Marketplace, the seat has gained instant celebrity status for being erected in the middle of a walkway.

Locals have now taken it upon themselves to create an event in which we all step over the bench to show how pointless it is. Mark Parton MLA is even hosting a bench naming competition with a $50 Kinglsey’s voucher up for grabs!
