Canberra is making international headlines.

The nation’s capital has come in second place for quality of life in the Oxford Economics Global Cities Index, only behind Grenoble in France.

The annual report was released, crunching the numbers to find the best cities from across the globe.

The Quality of Life category was determined on the following indicators:

  • Life expectancy
  • Income per person
  • Income equality
  • Housing expenditure
  • Recreational activities & cultural sites
  • Internet speed

When it came to the overall rankings, taking in a total of 27 indicators, New York was crowned the Best City to Live.
