In a recent analysis by the Tax Office, Canberra’s wealthiest neighbourhoods have been put under spotlight, offering a glimpse into where the city’s high-income residents call home.

Based on median and average household incomes reported, the list highlights the most exclusive suburbs where top earners are concentrated.

Leading the pack is:

  1. 2600: Covering Barton, Deakin, and Yarralumla, boasting an impressive average tax income of $86,986.
  2. 2603: Including Forrest, Griffith, Manuka, and Red Hill, following closely with an average of $85,907.
  3. 2604: Encompassing Kingston and Narrabundah, reporting an average income of $84,603.

In a surprising twist, Jerrabomberra and Googong have made their mark, reflecting rising affluence beyond the ACT’s borders. Despite their relatively recent development, these suburbs have quickly become home to some of the capital region’s fourth highest earners.

This data aligns with 2023 trends that establish 2600 as the prime postcode for Canberra’s elite.

Emerging suburbs are also making waves in the luxury market. Denman Prospect has jumped onto the scene, boasting a median taxable income of $75,729, signalling a new era of upscale living in Canberra’s expanding neighbourhoods out west.
