The giant chip eating magpie in Civic has been immortalised in coin and stamp.

‘Big Swoop’ as it’s known, features as one of 10 new designs in Australia posts latest ‘Aussie Big Things’ collection, made in collaboration with the Mint in Deakin.

Other ‘big things’ feature in the new collection includes the Big Pineapple, Big Banana & the Giant Koala in Victoria.

Despite the impressive feature for one of Canberra’s newest landmarks, it’s not the first time this giant bird has spread its wings beyond Garema Place.

Earlier this year, Big Swoop began dropping its own line of merch for fans to buy online.
