The nation’s capital is home to many statues, holding significant historical relevance.

Overseas, Dublin City Council is taking steps to protect their statues from unnecessary groping from passers by, following reports of wear through excessive handling.

The bronze statue of local folk hero Molly Malone is a popular spot with tourists to the Irish capital.

Visitors pose for photos touching the figure’s exposed breasts, a practice said to bring good luck.

As a result, part of the statue has become tarnished over time, with the council enforcing no-touch rules to prevent further damage.

Should this rule be applied to Canberra’s statues?

Hit 104.7’s Wilko & Courts are particularly concerned about a certain sheep statue along City Walk in Civic.

They think the promiscuous posing of the sheep could mean certain parts of the statue could wear down quickly…
