In an interesting Reddit post an old Canberra myth has been proven… And also debunked.

Maybe you had heard the myth too, that when the monarch is in town (aka on Monday this week) the jet goes higher.

The post read:

“I was told that there were 2 electric motors that could pump Captain Cook Jet and only when the reigning monarch was in town would both pumps be used adding 25% to the height of the jet.”
