New hiking trails extend popular bushwalking tracks in Canberra’s north
Time to get your hiking boots out, there’s a new series of walking tracks across our first ever swing bridges!
The new tracks span the Conservation Corridor near the Murrumbidgee River and build upon the popular Strathnairn to Shepherds Lookout walk, with over 13km of nature to explore along the way.
Along the hike, you’ll come across Canberra’s first ever swing bridges – 15 metres and 37 metres in length.
“We’re really excited to be now able to share more of the Conservation Corridor with visitors to the area,” Dr Jason Cummings, CEO of the Ginninderry Conservation Trust said, “the Trust team will now be working hard to develop interpretative signage so people can gain a better understanding of the unique aspects of the Corridor.”
The tracks were officially opened on Tuesday morning by ACT sports and recreation minister Yvette Berry.
