A Canberra community post has sparked a big local thank you after a man named Tom reportedly noticed smoke coming from a neighbour’s garage in Dunlop and jumped into action.

The story, discussed on-air after being shared on the Canberra community noticeboard, says Tom knocked on nearby doors, helped get families to safety and made sure the fire brigade was called.
