A new Happiest Couples Index has revealed which parts of Australia supposedly offer the strongest foundations for long-term relationship happiness.

The index compared six relationship and lifestyle factors, including marriage and divorce rates, housing affordability, healthcare and overall wellbeing. Unfortunately, the ACT didn’t exactly cover itself in glory, ranking seventh out of Australia’s eight states and territories, with Tasmania taking the top spot.

There was at least one win for Canberra: the ACT recorded the highest life expectancy. So, while we might not be Australia’s happiest couples, we’ll have plenty of time to prove the ranking wrong. Listen to Kristen and the team unpack the results below.
