There’s fears Canberra United may no longer exist by the time the next A League Women’s season rolls around.
The club is facing financial uncertainty, with fan group Save Canberra United hosting their first meeting earlier this week to strategize ways to keep the team afloat.
The fan group has so far raised 40 thousand of their 300 thousand dollar target.
ACT Senator David Pocock has voiced his support for the movement, donating 500 dollars of his own money to the cause.
In a chat with Hit 104.7’s Wilko & Courts Senator Pocock called on the ACT Government to do more to support the women’s sporting club.
