The Canberra Brave are skating into uncharted territory, with every home game since their move to the AIS Arena selling out. The reigning Goodall Cup champions made the switch from Phillip Ice Rink to the AIS Areana on May 31, effectively doubling their capacity to 3,000 seats, yet the demand for tickets has already surpassed the venue’s capacity. The team has committed to playing at AIS Arena through the 2025 and 2026 seasons, with discussions ongoing to extend the deal beyond 2027.

In response to the overwhelming interest, plans are underway to expand seating options within the arena, including the potential addition of 200 to 300 more seats at rinkside. The Brave have also adjusted game times to avoid major scheduling clashes, such as this weekend’s triple-header of NRL, NRLW games at GIO Stadium, giving fans the option to enjoy both sports in one day. As the club’s popularity continues to soar, the Brave are aiming to build on their momentum and cement Canberra’s status as a national force in Australian ice hockey.
