Canberra’s own Jon Tucker has been named the NRL’s Teacher of the Year, recognised for more than a decade of dedication to using rugby league as a tool for connection, confidence, and community.

As the ACT’s first NRL Platinum Teacher Ambassador, Jon has transformed Charles Conder Primary School into a hub for rugby league activity from after-school clinics and All Abilities programs to player visits and gala days.

Beyond the classroom, he’s a junior league coach, a key member of School Sport ACT, and has helped double participation in the region over the past ten years.

The Canberra Raiders have praised Jon for his leadership and passion.
