They say it takes a village to raise a baby, but what does it take to raise a baby zebra?

That’s right, the Canberra community has officially gotten a little bit bigger, following the news of our National Zoo and Aquarium welcoming their 29th baby zebra.

Already out and about with her herd, and for us to visit, the Zoo’s Animal Care Manager, Sophie Dentrinos tells us she’s still getting used to her legs.

“There’s lots of zoomy interactions happening around the enclosure at top speed… So some days are a little more graceful than others”

While she’s a perfect addition to the big zoo family, there is still something missing, a name.

The zoo will launch a competition, inviting the nations capital to suggest the best name for striped bundle of joy, with all the details on their socials.

Until then, we can always visit the newest member of the Canberra zoo family, and cheer her on as she gets used to using her legs.
