Canberra’s population has officially grown by 1 on Monday as the beloved children’s puppet Mr Squiggle finds a new home in the Nation’s Capital.

His move comes 65 years after his debut on television.

The original marionette and around 800 related objects have joined the National Historical Collection after being acquired by the National Museum of Australia.
