If you’ve ever wanted to step into a story rather than just watch it unfold, now’s your chance. Odyssey Theatre is bringing their pirate-themed murder mystery Law and Marauder” to Tuggeranong Homestead on Saturday 13 September, and it promises a night of secrets, treasure, and plenty of chaos. Inside Dread Fred’s tavern, two rival pirate crews collide, tempers flare, and by the end of the night, someone won’t make it out alive. The twist is that it’s up to you and the other guests to figure out who, navigating rooms where trust is in short supply and every interaction could hold a clue.

What makes this experience so thrilling is that it’s fully immersive. Everyone becomes a pirate with their own story, secrets, and objectives. Friendships shift into rivalries, alliances crumble, and accusations fly as the evening builds to its big reveal. You might be the clever investigator, the charming trickster, or the unlucky victim who can’t escape the chaos. It’s all part of the fun.

Odyssey Theatre is known for turning everyday spaces into playful, unpredictable worlds, and Law and Marauder is no exception. Artistic Director Emily McKendry sums it up perfectly: “Everyone’s suspicious, no one’s safe, and there’s an 83 percent chance someone will dramatically accuse their best friend of murder. It’s ridiculous in the best way, and honestly, that’s exactly how we like it.”

Locals are invited to dress up, embrace the pirate life, and dive headfirst into a night that’s part theatre, part adventure, and entirely entertaining.

Tickets are $95 and include a welcome drink and canapés, so you can enjoy the night without worrying about missing a clue.
