It’s the end of an era for Canberra’s Green Shed.

The owners this morning confirming all 4 stores in the ACT are set to close by Thursday May 30, leaving 84 staff members without jobs.

It comes as their current contract with the ACT Government, to manage the re-usable facilities at Canberra tips, hasn’t been renewed.

In a letter advising the Green Shed of its decision, the Territory Government has revealed Vinnies as the successful tenderer.

The Green Shed’s post on Facebook announcing their closure, has attracted hundreds of comments with people expressing their outrage and demanding public consultation.
