Sausage lovers around Canberra are being called to Verity Lane this Saturday, to take part in a brand new Hot Dog festival held by Reload Bar & Games.

Most importantly, it’s not a festival only focusing on the culinary icon, but also one of our most sausage-shaped 4-legged companions: the Dachshund!

There’s a cutest dachshund costume contest on for all attendees, with a pet photographer available, and some special dog-friendly beer for our pooch companions.

As for the humans, the headlining event is set to be a hot-dog eating competition, with entries for the competition closing at 1pm on the day.

It’ll be paired with hot dog trivia, a hot dog tossing challenge, and the mysterious hotdog bobbing challenge!

Music, a Giant Jenga set, and more lawn games are set to entertain attendees, with heaps of craft beers, cocktails, and smoothies also up for grabs.

The Sausage party itself is set to play host to 10 different flavours of hot dogs, with entry tickets allowing attendee’s their choice of a free snag.

Tickets cost $25 for human adults, while furry friends get free entry!
