Embarrassing your kids is basically a parenting rite of passage, and this might be the perfect example.

As part of Hugo’s kindy “mystery reader” surprise, his mum decided to make the visit a little more memorable by walking into the classroom wearing a giant duck head. There was also an astronaut costume in the mix at one point, but the duck won.

She gave it the full “Who’s the lucky duck?” entrance, read the class a story, handed out stamps, and somehow Hugo still didn’t realise it was his mum straight away.

Later that afternoon, he admitted the whole thing made him “feel funny”… which sounds a lot like his first proper case of parent embarrassment.
