Braddon’s finest chocolate shop has announced it’s closing down.

The Enigma Fine Chocolates store on Lonsdale St will cease trading from the brick-and-mortar store on Wednesday 27 September (unless sold out beforehand).

The owners taking to Facebook overnight to share news of the ‘difficult decision’ after many sleepless nights.

“As most of you know, this is a family owned and run small business. Every aspect has been done by our small team – from making the delicious treats, to packaging, marketing, admin and until recently even local deliveries, In between all of this, we’re also trying to raise tiny human beings.”

“We need to take a long and overdue break from the burnout that a small business can create as well as to refocus on our work/life balance.”

The businesses opened the store along the busy street back in 2019 after gaining somewhat of a cult following for its handmade and often unique artisan chocolates.

However, it’s not goodbye from the team just yet, more like a ‘see-ya soon’.

“We hope to bring Enigma back at some point to continue our love and passion for all things chocolate.”
