Sad news today for another local foodie establishment.

Gungahlin’s La Empanada has announced it’s shutting up shop.

The owners taking to social media on Friday morning to share the news of their ‘difficult decision’.

“We have been going at it for nearly 8 years now, the burnout associated with owning and running a small business is real.”

“The reason behind our decision is to focus on raising our two children while also being able to properly enjoy life with friends and family.”

It comes after Thursday’s news of the Beach Burrito store Civic also closing down.

La Empanada now the third major food establishment to close in Canberra in as many days after Braddon’s own Enigma Chocolates earlier this week also announced its closure for pretty similar reasons.
