The Milano Cortina Games in Italy kick off this week, but our hopes of bringing back a medal to Canberra have been put on hold.

News overnight has revealed our homegrown Australian sportsperson, freestyle skier Laura Peel, has sustained a knee injury during a training camp just days out from her debut at this year’s games.

The news has shocked Canberra and the Australian teams, all now rooting for a speedy recovery.
