Slipper Ends Wallabies Era but Keeps Scrumming for the ACT Brumbies
Wallabies great James Slipper will hang up his boots on the international stage this weekend, but Canberra fans can breathe easy, the record-breaking prop is staying with the ACT Brumbies.
Slipper will play his 151st and final Test on Saturday against New Zealand in Perth, closing out a glittering Wallabies career that began in 2010.
The Brumbies co-captain, who has led Australia 15 times and featured at four Rugby World Cups, said it was the right time to step aside for the next generation.
Slipper departs as the Wallabies’ most-capped player and the most-capped prop in world rugby history. He’s also played more Super Rugby matches than any other Australian, with 198 to his name.
Brumbies fans can look forward to seeing him in action again when Super Rugby Pacific kicks off in 2026.
