Aussie rock band the Hoodoo Gurus will make their way to Canberra next year as part of the Enlighten Festival.

The group will be headlining the Symphony in the Park concert, held at Stage88 on Sunday 10 March.

ACT Arts Minister, Tara Cheyne, said the annual event is sure to be a spectacular next year as the band take to the stage alongside the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

“The Hoodoo Gurus were ground-breakers when they first began playing live shows in Aussie pubs and clubs in the early 80s.”

“Forty years later they’re still trailblazers and this is demonstrated by the band’s enthusiasm about collaborating with one of the most progressive orchestras in Australia.”

It’s the first time the band has taken to a stage in Canberra since 2016 when they appeared at Summernats.

It’s not the only exciting news that’s recently been dropped ahead of next year’s Enlighten Festival, with confirmation of Skyfire’s return on 16 March.
