The Haig Park Village Markets are making their grand return for 2024, with a jam-packed schedule this Sunday.

Markets Director, Alexandra (Alex) Webb, said there’s a huge range of store holders, which is great to see.

“We’ve got a few different areas of the market,” she said.

Alex mentioned too that the parks has a number of different sections, which also includes the organic produce area.

“There’s lovely honeys,” she said, “Our orange man is coming back… smoked meats, which is always a very nice treat.”

“Gorgeous baked goods, so croissants and pastries, and all those sorts of yummy things.”

On top of all this, there will also be the food court available, and full

of multicultural options.

It’s not just food on display either, with lots of local home-made goods available, and activities for the children to take part in.

“So we’ve got everything from candles and… German style cookies… we’ve got different upcycled bags,” Alex said.

She also teased the opening of a new hand-made store, which uses beeswax in it’s products.

It’s not just goods to take home that are on sale, Mojo Cycle Repairs are offering free bike repairs for attendees, as well as a check and tune repair workshop.

So anyone who’s having issues with their bicycles is welcome to come on down to the markets, and have their bikes looked over.

Workshops like those being held this weekend are something that Alex said she wants to incorporate more of into the markets.

“There’s a lot of interesting people in our community and things that we can offer around the markets,” she said, “We’ve had a lot of interest in the past,  so we would like to sort of get some things up and running once or twice a month in that area of knowledge, introducing those into the markets.”

She also said they hope to expand upon the kid’s area which us up and running, including more face painters and activities for the families.

“We’ve got ,currently, arts and crafts and we have games, lawn games as well,” She said.

“So really just getting a bit more entertainment happening through there.”

Some good news for our four-legged friends too, with the announcement that the paws parties are also set to return at the end of every month!

Alex has highlighted the paws parties as a great way to help socialise dogs, and get them used to big crowds with other pooches around.

This weekend’s markets will be open from 8am until 2pm on Sunday.
